VECCF Mission

The Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Foundation (VECCF) is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for animals in need by funding animal welfare causes and supporting organizations committed to the well-being of animals.

  • To assist non-profit groups whose purpose is in alignment with the mission of the VECCF.
  • To enhance the quality of life and improve the safety of service animals through training, education and financial assistance.
  • To fund innovative research projects that advance veterinary emergency and critical care medicine and improve patient care.
  • To supply funding and support to animal care providers following a natural or man-made disaster.

History, Purpose and Projects

The VECCF was established in 2003 for the purpose of providing assistance and funding for projects that raise the level of care for animals in need. In addition, the foundation supports our colleagues in emergency and critical care by funding clinical research grants as well as education and training programs.

The VECCF also funds and participates in charitable needs projects. Past projects include rebuilding a shelter damaged during hurricane Katrina, creating a much needed exercise area for a struggling shelter and a free spay neuter clinic for a low-income community. Visit our past projects page for more specific information about these success stories.

Donations to the VECCF are tax-deductible since VECCF is classified by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Donations can be made as a memorial for a special pet or as a thank you to a client or valued team member. Click here for more information about donations or to make a donation.

The VECCF is managed by a Board of Directors and a group of advisors and is a separate organization from VECCS.
