Annual Operational K9 Emergency Pre-Hospital Care & CPR Course

Each year the VECC Foundation hosts a free Emergency Pre-Hospital Care & CPR Course for police officers, EMTs and fire fighters.  The course runs from 8am-4pm and includes lecture and hands-on instructional training.

In addition to basic physical exam, bandaging and appropriate restraint, this course covers topics such as heat stroke, GDV, wound care, toxins, anaphylaxis and Narcan administration.  More advanced topics and training include IV placement, blast injury, fluid resuscitation, thoracocentesis and of course, CPR.
